Beautiful Butterflies Fun Fold

This month I am sharing my swap card that I designed for an organized fun fold swap I am particpating in at the Stampin’ Up! OnStage conference in Raleigh, NC. I decided to use the Beautiful Butterflies bundle and the Botanical Textures Designer Series Paper to create this striking fun fold card. I love a good black & white patterned paper pack as it pairs beautifully with so many colors. Let’s start by looking at my card folded as it would appear when pulled out of the envelope.

Now, let’s open it. This is where the magic begins!

Lastly, you open the center flap to see the interior.

Bear with me on the details below as there are a lot and need to be done in a certain order but once you make one, you’ll be good to go!

The Details

  • Basic Black | 1 piece at 5-1/2″x8-1/2″ (cardbase), scored at 4-1/4 on the 8-1/2″ side. On the front, cut in 1-1/4″ from each side to center score line. See picture below for cutting reference.
  • Basic White | 1 piece at 4″x5-1/4″ (interior)
  • Coastal Cabana | 2 pieces at 1-1/8″x4-1/8″ (sides), 1 piece at 2-7/8″x4-1/8″ (center), 1 piece at 1-1/8″x5-1/4″ (bottom strip), scrap piece for the 2 butterfly die cuts
  • Botanical Textures DSP | 1 piece at 4-3/4″x4″, from this piece you will cut 1 piece at 1″x4″ (side 1 – left), 1 piece at 2-3/4″x4″ (center), which leaves 1 piece at 1″x4″ (side 2 – right), and lastly cut 1″ off the bottom of the 2-3/4″x4″ (center) piece. See picture below for cutting reference.
  • Adhere the left, center, and right DSP pieces to the Coastal Cabana pieces as shown. WAIT to adhere the bottom center DSP piece on the long Coastal Cabana piece.
  • Adhere the center layered piece to the front outside Basic Black center. Should have a nice 1/8″ border of Basic Black showing.
  • Adhere the 1 Coastal Cabana piece at 1-1/8″x5-1/4″ (bottom strip) to the left and right sides of the Basic Black by applying the adhesive to the outer parts only. This creates a bridge between the left and right side over the center piece. The piece should be centered and in line with the bottom of the center piece that is already adhered below.
  • Adhere the left and right sides OVER the bridge piece.
  • Adhere the remaing piece of DSP to the center of the Coastal Cabana bridge piece, aligning it to create a continuous look.
  • Adhere the 2 butterfly die cut pieces back to back with one on the card front and other on the inside lined up with the outside one.

Me and these beauties are off to OnStage. If you’d like to see sneak peeks of new products and share in my Raleigh OnStage adventures make sure to follow me on Instagram and Facebook for updates.
