Fluttering By to Say Hi

One of my favorite bundles in the new catalog is the All Aflutter Bundle. Butterflies are always a timeless choice, and I love how easy this bundle makes it to create cheerful cards for any occasion.

For today’s hello card, I paired the detailed punched butterfly images with bold cardstock stripes. The vibrant background draws your eye to the simple greeting, while three fluttering butterflies add movement and a playful touch. A few iridescent embellishments provide just the right amount of sparkle to finish the design.

I also carried the butterfly theme onto the envelope by stamping a few coordinating butterflies, creating a polished presentation that’s ready to brighten someone’s mailbox.

The Details

  • Card Base: Blueberry Bushel 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″
  • Layer 1 and Interior: Basic White 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Layer 2: Blueberry Bushel 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″
  • Layer 3: Basic White 3-3/4″ x 5″
  • Layer 4: 7, 1/4″ strips in various colors (see above), adherered to top of layer 3, trim off excess
  • Tip: Use a die or punch of your choosing (I used one of the Forever Florals dies) to cut out half strips, half cardstock (see picture below) and then flip and stamp sentiment before adhering
