Pals Blog Hop – Life is Good Garden

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is “Wonderful Cards/Projects from the Garden” where our design team showcase projects from things found in a garden, such as flowers, vegetables, fruits, or even a garden scene. We really hope that you enjoy and will be inspired by them! As you hop from blog to blog, don’t forget to leave comments because we love hearing from you. Once you finish here, you will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Life is Good Garden Wall Art

You walk into a home decorator store looking for something to hang on your wall. You browse through the store falling in love with pillows, desks, dining room sets, and then you turn the corner. You see the art piece you’ve always wanted, one you immediately fall for. You run to the sculpture/painting/photograph and admire, jaw dropped. When of all of a sudden, you see the price tag. You walk out of the store with slumped shoulders, your head is down … basically you look like Charlie Brown after a ‘good grief’ moment.

And then after you get some ice cream to cheer you up, you come home, and start searching the internet. You magically find this blog. And now you feel lucky because we’re going to create a beautiful piece of wall art from….PAPER.

Let’s Create It

  • Cut 5 – 1″x8.5″ strips of cardstock in your choice of colors.
  • Choose 1 piece of coordinating 8.5″x11″ cardstock for the background.
  • Get an additional piece (scrap if you have it) of the coordinating background to cut 4 flower silhouettes from. The flowers I used are a sneak peek of the Harvest Dies from the upcoming Mini Catalog that starts August 3rd. In the mean time you could use the Meadow Dies that are in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.
  • Take 1 of the 1″x8.5″ strips of cardstock and the Playful Alphabet Dies and using a ruler as a guide line up your letter dies.
  • Take a long strip of low tack tape and gently lay it over the letter dies. This will make it easier to run them through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.
  • Use a ruler to adhere cardstock strips to background. Don’t forget to add letter centers using Take Your Pick tool if you have any.
  • Using the ruler as a guide adhere flower silhouettes on top of the cardstock strips.
  • Frame and hang! My frame is an 11″x14″ frame with an 8″x10″ mat.

Glass is so hard to photograph but here is the finished piece ready to hang, reflections and all!

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team, because the Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on August 11th. Our theme will be “My Happiest Season” when our Design Team creates a project showcase projects inspired by their favorite season of the year. Until then, have fun in your craft space.

  3. Your stripes and letters are all absolutely perfectly lined up. I’ve used a magnetic ruler to line up letters, but the tape has to be much, much easier. Thanks for the tip!
