Today I wanted to share this Thinking of You card and a super easy technique to achieve a beautiful watercolor background.
To achieve this watercolor background you will need the following:
- Clear Block E which measures 3-7/16″ x 4-7/16″ and makes a nice background size
- 2 Stampin’ Write Markers of your choosing (a light and medium shade work best) I used Calypso Coral and Coastal Cabana
- Stampin’ Spritzer filled with a 60/40 solution of water and rubbing alcohol
- Whisper White Thick Cardstock (it is important to use the thick as it will be getting quite wet)
How To:
- Cut a piece of Whisper White Thick Cardstock to desired card front size
- Take Clear Block E and with your light color Stampin’ Write marker color various areas of the block with the brush tip end
- It is A-ok to leave empty areas to achieve a more varied look if you desire
- Next take the darker (medium) color Stampin’ Write marker color in the empty areas of the block using the brush tip end
- Take your Stampin’ Spritzer with the 60/40 solution in it and gently spritz the colored block until the colors start to move
- Take the now colored and spritzed block and stamp onto the cardstock, make sure to firmly push to spread the ink
- Lift block and be amazed at your beautiful watercolor background
- Let this dry completely before adding sentiment
- Also the paper will tend to curl slightly so I place a heavy book on it so that it lays flat
- Stamp desired sentiment, I recommend doing this with the Stamparatus (this way you can get the right amount of coverage and re-stamp if necessary)
- Assemble your card and voila, you’ve created an a beautiful watercolor back ground in no time at all
Thank you so much for stopping by. Hope you take time to get creative today.
Keep Creating!
Tricia
